Gateway to Ajanta and Ellora, and an automotive hub.

Aurangabad, renamed Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in 2023, is the gateway to the Ajanta and Ellora caves. Bajaj Auto’s plant at Waluj, opened in the 1980s, anchored a large automotive cluster, and the city also has pharmaceutical, brewing and engineering plants. AURIC, at Shendra–Bidkin, is a new industrial city on the Delhi–Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

With AURIC attracting new investment, employers need workforces for new plants as well as existing ones. TNSL plans deployments around commissioning schedules and keeps compliance in order from day one.

Questions employers ask about staffing in Aurangabad

How quickly can TNSL deploy contract workers in Aurangabad?

It depends on the numbers, skills and shifts. As a guide from our own work: for a greenfield cable plant near Ahmedabad we mobilised about 200 workmen in three months, and for an FMCG plant in Aligarh we deployed 125+ workers in 45 days. We agree a ramp-up plan with you before the first deployment.

What is the minimum wage for contract workers in Aurangabad?

In Maharashtra, the minimum wage for an unskilled worker (Zone I: municipal corporation areas, and industrial areas within 20 km of them) is ₹14,155 a month (₹544.42 a day), with higher rates for semi-skilled and skilled workers. The full table, with the effective date and source, is on this page.

Do Professional Tax and Labour Welfare Fund apply in Maharashtra?

In Maharashtra, Professional Tax applies and Labour Welfare Fund contributions apply. PF and ESI apply everywhere. TNSL deducts and deposits every applicable due and shares the supporting records and challans with you as agreed.

Can you staff new plants in AURIC?

Yes. We plan hiring around your commissioning schedule, from the first trial runs to full production, recruit locally across Marathwada, and set up attendance, payroll and compliance from day one.

As the principal employer, what is my liability for contract workers?

Under contract labour law, the principal employer must ensure contract workers are paid on time and that PF, ESI and other dues are deposited; if the contractor fails, the liability can fall on you. TNSL removes that risk by paying on time, depositing every due, and keeping licences, registers and challans audit-ready for your inspection.
